Tree-lined street in High Pines

High Pines is an enclave of about 450 homes and condominiums nestled between the cities of South Miami to the west and Coral Gables on the north, east and south.  It is actually a pocket of unincorporated Miami-Dade County and contains some of the most desirable South Florida real estate.   It’s bounded on the north by 72nd Street (Sunset Drive), on the south by 80th Street (Davis Road), on the west by 57th Avenue (Red Road) and on the east by 52nd Avenue (Schoolhouse Road).  The oldest house dates back to 1924.  It’s a quiet, tree-lined, dog- and kid-friendly neighborhood.  Every morning you’ll find children walking with their backpacks down the street to the local school at 52nd Avenue and Sunset Drive.  Sunset Elementary, one of the finest schools in Miami-Dade County and home to the International Studies Magnet Program, is one of the reasons this area is so popular.  I attended Sunset Elementary and so did my daughter.  She went through the French program, became fluent, and now works for Marc Jacobs in New York.  Marc Jacobs is owned by the French conglomerate, Moet Hennesey Luis Vuitton, and they needed someone fluent in French to interact with the owners.  But I digress.   We call High Pines “easy living”, because it’s the kind of place where everybody knows everybody else and nobody bothers anybody.  We’ll stop and chat and find out what’s going on in the commissioner’s office.  We’re represented by Carlos Gimenez, who is very responsive to our needs.   The County had to tear up 76th Street and 52nd Avenue to install new sewer lines for Sunset Elementary.  Commissioner Gimenez took advantage of the re-paving to add a very pleasant meandering pathway down the center of the median on 76th Street.  Just a little sod and we’ll have a beautiful strolling path.  There are currently 21 homes for sale in High Pines ranging in price from $425,000 to $2,195,000.  I have a beautiful listing at 76th Street and 53rd Place.  If you’d like to find out about owning a home in High Pines, South Miami, Coral Gables or anywhere in South Florida, you can reach me at 305-401-8058 or bishopric.r@ewm.com.
